CASE STUDY:
When "Nothing Added" Adds Everything to the Brand
The Challenge:
Making "Au Naturel" Actually Appealing

Our Approach:
Getting Our Thumbprints All Over It (Literally)
We built the brand around four key traits that would serve as our North Star throughout the design process:
Transparent & Honest: Like that friend who will genuinely tell you if those pants are unflattering—but in the kindest way possible.
Friendly & Approachable: The wine equivalent of someone who can explain quantum physics without making you feel like you dozed off in science class.
Environmental Steward: Committed to the planet without constantly posting about their compost bin on social media.
Quality-Focused: Obsessive about standards but without the snobbery—think meticulous, not pretentious.
The Natural Wine Label Design:
Labels That Actually Tell You Something
We ditched traditional foil wrappings for eco-conscious closures in our sustainable wine packaging design, proving that sometimes less really is more (except when it comes to pouring sizes—then more is definitely more). This small but significant detail reinforced the brand's environmental commitment through thoughtful natural wine label design choices.
Digital Presence:
Taking Transparency Beyond the Bottle
Presentation Design
Our content strategy for "The Latest" blog took education to the next level without the textbook feel. We created engaging series about natural winemaking processes, organic farming practices, and comparative analyses between conventional and natural wines that didn't require a chemistry degree to understand. We featured interviews with natural wine pioneers who shared stories as rich and complex as the wines themselves—but far more digestible.

The Results:
Numbers That Aged Even Better Than the Wine
A remarkable 42% increase in retail placement within just six months of launch—proving that transparency sells. A 36% higher engagement with millennial and Gen Z wine consumers, who apparently appreciate not being condescended to about what they're drinking and who care deeply about ingredient transparency. An overwhelming 89% of surveyed customers cited the transparent label design as influential in their purchase decision—transparency isn't just ethical; it's good business.
This case study demonstrates how Finchform Co. approaches natural wine label design challenges with creativity and strategic thinking. Through thoughtful wine packaging design choices and innovative label solutions, we created a brand identity for this artisanal wine producer that was both beautiful and effective—all while staying true to RedThumb's core values of transparency and sustainability.
